Our Current ProjectsJenney Way Jenney Way Lottery WinnerThe goal: to build a wonderful pocket neighborhood that is also the first affordable housing community in Massachusetts ever to achieve LEED platinum certification, the highest standard for Leadership in Environmental Design awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council. The result: Jenney Way -- nine affordable homes in the heart of Edgartown Center, a neighborhood within walking distance of stores and activities. The houses, to be completed by spring of 2008 (end of May) and made possible by a generous donation from the Jenney Family Nominee Trust and an additional private donor, are built with the idea of being "affordable forever"-- a set of standards that designs long-term savings in energy and maintenance costs into every new home. As one of the last housing projects that we directly participate in (our sister organization, the Island Housing Trust, does our general contracting now,) Jenney Way is our "coming of age" project -- our first affordable housing community.
