In 2007, we decided to try something completely different with our premier fundraiser, a live 3-day telethon on Plum TV. Last year's event in conjunction with the Premiere Party helped us raise over $520,000 for affordable housing initiatives. Save the date, Housing on the Tube 2008 will happen Friday, July 25th - Sunday July 27th. This year, we hope to raise even more with your help and continue to offer solutions to help our neighbors stay on the Island.Bradley Square

Closed for two generations and in a state of disrepair, the Bradley Memorial Church and the land around it was purchased by the IAHF in order to restore the grand building, to create a multi-use cultural space on the ground level with affordable residential units in the former Denniston family quarters above. The site also allows for two additional buildings that will house affordable residences, some of which will be affordable work/live spaces for Island artists, spurring the growth of the recently formed Arts District. A courtyard, ample off-street parking, and open space will surround this community of pedestrian-friendly galleries and home sites. All of this will be done in accordance with the Island Housing Trust's high-performance, green building standards. To accomplish this is no small task. Over $1.7 million dollars must be raised in order for this project-- which is historic both in age and magnitude - to become a reality.Raising the Roof RTR reaches out to individuals and foundations for large donations, commitments of more than $5,000, to fund housing programs. The goal is $14 million over 5 years. Islanders Helping Islanders (IHI) IHI is seeking 2,000 individuals, families, and groups to commit $100 annually for 5 years or another amount suitable to their budget, for a goal of $1 million.A Major Donation of Cash or Stock A donation of stock or other appreciated property which has been held for more than one year - including securities or certain real estate that are worth more than they were when you acquired them may offer you additional tax advantages not available with cash gifts. The Island Housing Trust holds land in perpetuity, ensuring a pool of affordable housing for future generations.Make IAHF a Beneficiary of an Insurance Policy You can amend a policy that no longer serves its original purpose, name IAHF a contingent beneficiary, or buy to specifically benefit IAHF.Estate Planning & Planned GiftsPlanned Giving methods allow you to make a gift in the future or to transfer an asset now while keeping some benefit for yourself or your family.

Planned Giving methods include:

Outright bequest in your will
Make IAHF the beneficiary of an IRA or retirement plan
Make IAHF the beneficiary of an insurance policy
Create a charitable lead trust or charitable remainder trust
