About Us Board Member - Annie Bradshaw
Annie Bradshaw Annie was born in Medford Massachusetts. She attended Medford High and Salem State College with a double major, Early Childhood Education and Art History. During her sophomore year of college, her mother, then 46 years old, had a cerebral hemorrhage and subsequent stroke leaving her in a semi vegetative state. It was a family decision to bring her home rather than a nursing home. I became her full-time caregiver and remain in that position to date.
My family has been seasonal residents of Martha's Vineyard since 1979. In 1990, Annie married, Jeremy Bradshaw, a life-long seasonal and year-round resident. They have two boys, Maximilian, born in 1992, and Matthew, born in 1994, both attend Martha's Vineyard public schools.
The Bradshaw family moved to Martha's Vineyard year-round in 1995 wanting to be closer to Jeremy's father, Hugh Bradshaw. Hugh was instrumental in the establishment of the Island charity, the Vineyard House.
In 1996, Annie and Jeremy opened Martha's Vineyard Tile Company in a 300 sq. ft. space on Church Street, Vineyard Haven. We have since moved the business to a 2400 sq. ft. showroom in the Airport Business Park.
As an Island resident, Annie is extremely aware of the need for affordable housing for the residents of Martha's Vineyard. For 11 years, they did the "Island shuffle". It wasn't until 2005, with the help of Peter Rosbeck, that they were able to finally afford to purchase a home. By working with the Island Affordable Housing Fund, Annie is excited to "pay it forward".
